In Respect of Corporate Website Culture

I think, meeting with the demands of demanders deeply, is going to be a big boost to be able to have an acceleration that will create sector. Websites that are shaped by real needs -and not only have “vision, mission, contact” perspectives, will make sense of the following title: “Corporate Website Culture” in time.

In the previous post I declared; “200.000 out of 2 millions existed websites in Internet -a market-adapted conjecture on the domains have been bought from ODTÜ- are company websites. So, more than 1/3 of the total 670.000 companies in Turkey have a website. This is an essential rate, however the rate of 2/3, the companies that don’t have a website, is an opportunity for the market which makes it more essential. Published websites can be considered; they have solutions for domain as they are created ‘in a way’, their hosting services are available as they are published, finally they have design even though in different qualities as design can be handled in a way” Then I asked, “So what is the problem if everything is working properly?”

We say there is an opportunity for market but no sectorization. There are innumerable reasons to explain but let’s give a try: Sector components are unaware from each other, no common terminology, extreme lack of confidence as mutual in most market stages, no contracts regime that will carry the sector and provide assurance for demanders were the first things come into mind.

Latest revisions about obligation of website in new TTK seems that it makes the market steady. As an addition to my previous post, this sentence can be formed: If market's risk of no respond to the expectations provided a revision in the law, the atmosphere that occurred because of the necessity in the market may be accepted as awareness tension.

What is real need? Don't people require having websites?

Quantity of companies that involved in customer mass because of legal obligation possibility, made indistinct the difference between demanders and them, so that it was preventing to define real needs and making the deadlock deep. Here is an example of Erzurum: There are 2800 companies that registered in corporate tax, and the obligation were requiring 2800 website that works. So is it possible? How many websites does Erzurum have currently which meets sustainability requirements in law? If, there are some, those websites created before the legal obligation naturally. And of course, if the law came into operation, are there sufficient teams and developer companies that will meet demands? If no answers for those, which sector are we talking about?

Here, it would be beneficial if I briefly explain the approach that we've been underlined for several years. Who is demander? What is the difference between classic customer and demander?

Everyone may want to have website and according to this, everyone who want website are customer. However, only a part of it really needs website, which we call demander.
Customer says: I don't have idea about Internet but I need a nice and simple website, like Amazon.
Demander says: Those I want to have, these I don't want to, I am open to your advices. Some things should be added in time, it will have its extra budget as well and all the contents and images are ready.

I think, meeting with the demands of demanders deeply, is going to be a big boost to be able to have an acceleration that will create sector. Websites that are shaped by real needs -and not only have “vision, mission, contact” perspectives, will make sense of the following title: “Corporate Website Culture” in time.

Most popular demand: "I want a simple website..."

All necessities, begin with 'a simple website' expression. Actually this is a break point because, customer=demander is so unsure that he says he demands the simplest version therefore he expects to face with minimum cost. When he starts to see tangible matters, demands start to come to the point of "Amazon has this, Facebook has that, why you don't have these features" as determined and fast as weird. Is there a simple website? or can it be defined as website?

Are there only a type of website; a customer and a prototype webmaster?

1. Website (seems like there is only a website image in people's mind's eye)
2. A customer that demands this website (seems like there are companies/individuals that have same demands in any case)
3. Individual or company that will create this website (seems like there is a company/webmaster that responds same in any case)

It is difficult to have creative results from that cliche list and it will never do. One day, when sector is shaped, those titles will turn into its sub-titles and we may even have various, innovative and solutions generative components that are currently unknown. Lets take a look again to get the picture:

1. Website = Innumerable variety of website
2. A customer that demands this website = Countless line of business, demand and expectations.
3. Individual or company that will create this website = Many different companies and individuals exist.

Still the discussions made in terms of one unsubstantial website, a customer who does not exist and cookie-cutter webmaster individual. Naturally, no any progress is made.

How much is a website?

In the world -even it is a momentary- there may be products and services that have certain prices. There are some like gold, oil as they are traded as exchange -they even have their own exchange market. So, the question of "How much is a website" has an answer? When the first question is "How much", it is not so possible to make a progress during the meeting between demander and company/individual. Because customer desires to have the best fitted price from the beginning. In the case of demands aren't clear, price won't be arised, a weird inevitability occurs. Website adventures that are promised for unreal demands... Adventures that will never completed because of the impossible costs. Everyone has a few stories in this regard.

I share the secret that everyone know of: Those website will never be completed...
